Samsung’s postponed Galaxy Fold has hit another hurdle with the South Korean tech giant revealing it doesn’t know when the phone will ship.

Samsung intended to release the phone in the US on April 26, before problems with its folding screen encountered by early reviewers forced the company to push back shipments.

In a legally mandated new email updating pre-ordering customers in the US, the company now says it can’t confirm a release date.

Customers have been told they won’t be charged until their order ships, but they will have to confirm they still want the phone before May 31 or their orders will be cancelled.

Several companies have confirmed or are rumoured to be working on a foldable phone, with the aim of increasing screen real estate without compromising portability.
