Following a momentary delay, Samsung Australian has finally rolled out its new Dex Pad (A$149) for the new Galaxy S9/S9+ smartphones.

The revamped Dex Pad is a successor to the former Galaxy S8/S8+ compatible model launched in 2017.

Dex Pad enables users to experience a “portable desktop-like” experience, by attaching the device to a supported Samsung phone. In this, users can interact with their favourite apps “on a larger screen”.

The smartphone transforms into a track pad when attached to Dex Pad. The device features dual USB ports, plus a HDMI port to connect a keyboard and mouse (in lieu of the smartphone track pad).

Backwards compatible, consumers can use the upgraded Dex Pad with the Galaxy S8, S8+ and Note 8.
