Samsung pulled the plug on the Android Oreo update for its Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus with no reason, until today with the company saying the move was due to an unnoticed bug in the software.

In a statement to Sam Mobile Samsung says, “Following a limited number of cases where Galaxy S8 and S8+ devices have rebooted unexpectedly with the Android 8.0 Oreo, we have temporarily stopped the rollout of the update. We are investigating the issue internally to ensure that the impact to the affected devices is minimised and the roll-out of the update can resume as quickly as possible.”

The update has not been released in Australia but expect it in the next few months.

The Oreo update was released in Turkey, Norway, the UAE, India, Belgium, Germany, France, Poland, Ausdroid reports.
