Set to intensify competition against the likes of Razer and ASUS, recent reports claim Samsung is gearing to launch its first gaming-centric smartphone.

Whilst still a rumour, Samsung’s gaming smartphone will compete against ASUS’ ROG Phone and the Razer Phone – the later which launched locally in late June for A$1099.

The leaked tweet does not accompany solid evidence, however, commentators assert the source has a reliable a reputable track record.

Consensus is, Samsung’s gaming smartphone will feature a Snapdragon 845 chipset, with powerful under the hood components for a high refresh rate.

Confirming previous speculation, the tipster claims Samsung’s forthcoming foldable smartphone will not be called the ‘Galaxy X’. As reported, insiders claim it’s currently an in-development codename.

The news follows reports Samsung will significant expand and diversify its smartphone portfolio over the coming quarters, with a gaming-centric smartphone likely to capitalise on growing consumer demand.
