Samsung is reportedly bringing the latest software featured on the recently launched Galaxy Watch Active to older smartwatches Galaxy Watch, Gear S3 and Gear Sport.

An upcoming update will bring the Active’s One UI interface, health features, certain watch faces and other optimisations like Goodnight mode and high heart rate alerts to the older generations.

For fitness fanatics, simpler workout tracking will be available via the Samsung Health app and widget.

On the Samsung Health app users will be able to see their progress via a Daily Activities dashboard and take note of tracked fitness data to keep tabs on progress.

Some commentators are even pointing to promises of better battery life due to improved memory management which stops background apps.

Users can adjust settings, such as the brightness and screen timeout, on the watch as well.

The update will be rolled out at different times across various regions. Keep an eye on your Samsung Wearable apps for updates.
