Samsung’s budget Galaxy A20 smartphone is now available cheaper than outright through Telstra Pre-Paid.

The A20 sits at the bottom of Samsung’s Galaxy A series of budget smartphones, and retails through Samsung and JB Hi-Fi for $279.

Telstra now offers the A20 as one of its pre-paid phones for $229, but of course the device remains locked to its network.

Telstra charges unlock fees of $80 for devices never activated or only active six months and $25 after six months up to two years.

Deal hunters could potentially buy the phone through Telstra and insert a SIM from a mobile virtual network operator that uses the network such as Boost Mobile, Belong Mobile or ALDI Mobile.

The Galaxy A20 may be cheap but features some pretty handy specs for a budget phone, such as a 4000mAh battery, 32GB storage, and an 8-core, 1.6GHz processor.
