In a bid to further differentiate itself from Amazon’s Alexa and Google Assistant, recent reports reveal Apple’s Siri will soon get a “brand new voice”, as part of the upcoming iOS 12 release.
Noticed by Apple Post, when queried about Apple’s annual Worldwide Developer’s Conference (WWDC), Siri re-buffed the question and responded: “La la la, Siri is getting a brand new voice!”.
Californian-based Apple is set to unveil iOS 12 on June 4th, alongside its latest watchOS, tvOS and macOS 10.14.The company will reportedly also debut a new HomePod smart speaker, which is tipped to be more affordable than the current $499 model.
Consensus is, iOS 12 will feature increased software stability, reliability and enhanced performance.
Apple’s smart voice assistant, Siri, will reportedly also get a lot smarter, in a bid to reduce the divide between itself and rivals Alexa or Google Assistant.
