Previously only available in US, UK and Germany, music streaming player Spotify have now rolled out their discounted student subscription program to 33 additional territories.

“Today’s launches take our global Student offering to 36 markets  worldwide – making it the biggest music streaming Student offer in the world by geographical reach,” Spotify said in a press release.

Originally launched in 2014, the program now caters to students in Austria, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Ecuador, Estonia, Finland, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lithuania, Latvia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland and Turkey.

The company says this expansion of the program will be done through a partnership with SheerID, offering students access to Spotify Premium for approximately half the standard rate.

While the service is already a favorite among student users, It’s expected that the move will still help Spotify push its overall subscriber count, already the #1 in the streaming music space, even further ahead of rival Apple Music.

The company passed 50 million active subscribers in March, more than double that of Apple’s service.
