Leading Swedish streaming service Spotify has increased the download limit on its Premium Subscription service from 3,333 tracks to a massive 10,000, as part of its latest software update.

It is also increasing the number of devices the songs can be downloaded onto from three to five.

The new limit means users can potentially download 50,000 tracks across five devices and comes partly as a response to greatly increased storage capabilities across the vast majority of digital devices. 

Commenting on the upgrade, a Spotify spokesperson said the upgrade was part of the company’s ongoing commitment to continually improve its user/audience experience.

The offline download limit has been one of the main bugbears of Spotify subscribers who can listen to their offline libraries either when they cannot connect easily to the internet or when they have restrictions placed on their data usage.
