Telstra may be getting rid of 9,500 of its workers over the next three years, under plans announced by CEO Andy Penn, but the big telco says it is increasing its management support for small-business users.

The Big T said at the weekend that it aims to offer account management support for all small-business customers, irrespective of their size or number of services.

A special NBN tech support line is said to be available from 8am to 9pm for outfits which do a lot of business via the National Broadband Network, while there’s also said to be a dedicated specialist business team available for resolving queries across all business products and services.

“Under Telstra’s T22 strategy announced last year, the company is committed to improving service, cutting complexity and saving time for our small business customers,” Telstra says.
