Network problems earlier this morning prevented Vodafone customers across the country from making or receiving calls for almost three hours.

Vodafone confirmed that an error occurred during planned network maintenance, disrupting voice services over 3G and 4G from 5:30am to 8:10am AEDT.

The outage affected “many customers across the country,” a Vodafone spokeswoman told News Corp, but some customers were still able to make phone calls during the outage.

In September last year, ‘Vodafail’ returned after Vodafone customers were left without data connections for up to seven hours. Affected customers received 2GB of free data as compensation for the outage.

A Vodafone spokeswoman told the AAP that no special arrangements were in place to compensate customers affected by today’s outage.
