Xiaomi is bringing its Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team Edition to Australia, after teasing the product in July last year.

The $1499 eScooter uses design elements from leading automakers and can reach speeds up to 25km/hr and lasts up to 45km on a single charge.

It has a number of safety features including a double braking system, pneumatic shock-absorbing inflatable tires and a built-in display for monitoring and can climb 20 per cent incline hills without breaking a sweat. It is also foldable for easy carrying and storage.

The Mi Electric Scooter Pro 2 also features a 300W powerful motor and a 2W headlight which can illuminate up to 10 metres ahead.

It has a recommended retail price of $1499 in Australia (EUR 799) and availability in retail stores is still unconfirmed.

Xiaomi also launched a next-generation foldable eScooter in Australia, the Himo H1, in January.

The $1149 scooter weighs 14.5kg but can be folded down into a compact, A3-sized package and can travel up to 18km/h.

It uses a brushless DC hub motor to rate the speed at 600 RPM. For electricity, the bicycle has a 7.5 Ah lithium battery and the battery is lightweight at only 1.8kg.

The Xiaomi Himo H1 is priced at $1149, available now at JB Hi-Fi and the Mi Store.
