Microsoft has confirmed Co-Founder, Paul Allen (65) passed away on Monday afternoon, following complications of non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
Chief Executive, Satya Nadella, has reminisced on Mr Allen’s “quiet and persistent way”, asserting his legacy will continue to inspire Microsoft staff.

Mr Allen was recognised for co-founding Microsoft with Bill Gates in 1975. Like Gates, Allen was known for philanthropic deeds, giving away over US$2 billion (via his Vulcan network) to a wide range of causes including homelessness and fighting Ebola.
In early October, Mr Allen confirmed he’d begun treatment for non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma – the same cancer he fought in 2009.
The Microsoft Co-Founder departed after he was first diagnosed with Hodgkin’s disease, which he later defeated.
According to Forbes, Mr Allen is ranked the 44th most wealthiest man in the world, with an estimated net worth of over US$20 billion.
