Google is reportedly gearing to enter the foldable phone market, following a leaked patent detailing a clamshell device reminiscent of the 2019 Motorola Razr.

Like Samsung’s Galaxy Fold, Google’s variant folds inwards, unlike Huawei’s Mate X which folds outwards.

Published by Patently Mobile, Google’s foldable phone appears notably more mechanically simple than Samsung or Huawei, however, it remains unclear what the final product will be.

Chinese tech giant, ZTE, is reportedly also developing its first foldable phone, which appears similar in design to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold.
