NBN Co Promises Update ‘Soon’.


	NBN Co chief financial officer Stephen Rue late last week told a Senate estimates hearing that more detail on the technology and timing of the rollout would come “soon”. Defending delays in the release of the plans, Rue said there were still “too many unknowns” but NBN Co would produce a detailed plan when these unknowns, which include the government’s response to key reviews, are well-known. NBN Co also told the hearing that it would still deploy its technology in apartment buildings that have a “competing” technology set – a reference to TPG Telecom’s plans for a rollout of fibre-to-the-basement infrastructure to thousands of buildings in Australian major city CBDs.
