The renowned Harris Poll has ranked Amazon the most “reputable” tech company in the United States, following a criteria of financial performance, workplace environment, vision and leadership, social responsibility, plus intangible ’emotional appeal’.

The 19-year old poll quizzes the public about a company’s character, culminating in a top 100 list of America’s most reputable organisations.

The Harris Reputation Quotient (RQ) scores a company out of 100, with ratings above 80 considered “excellent”.

Only two CE (consumer electronics) or tech/appliance companies received an “excellent” score – Amazon and Microsoft.

Amazon landed the top spot with 83.22, and Microsoft ranked 11th with a score of 80.42.

Netflix came in 21st spot with 79.30.
