Samsung Electronics will launch the ‘Galaxy Note 8’ in August in New York it will go on sale in Australia in September according to sources, the device will have a 6.3 inch display screen.
At a press briefing in Taipei the President of Samsung’s Wireless division Ko Dong-jin said that Samsung will first release Galaxy Note 8 in South Korea, U.S, and the UK, there was no mention of when the Australian launch will take place. Telstra sources have confirmed a September launch locally.
The Samsung Unpack event is set to be held in New York on the 23rd of August.
Samsung introduced the Galaxy Note 7 in New York on the 2nd of August of last year and released it globally on the 19th of August.
The Galaxy Note 8 will come with a 6.3-inch Infinity Display (18.5:9 ratio) and Exynos8895 chipset. The US market will get the Qualcomm Snapdragon835 chipset.
It will be the first Galaxy Note series to have a dual rear-camera and 6GB of RAM, 64 and 128GB of internal memory.
It will also come with wireless charging, and waterproof and dustproof with IP68 rating and a 3,300mAh battery, which is 200mAh lower than the battery that was used for the ill-fated Galaxy Note 7
We have also been able to confirm that it will support AI (Artificial Intelligence) and the Samsung Bixby voice assistant technology. It is predicted that its S Pen, which is the first S Pen to have speakers installed inside, will support voice translation service.
