Big investor Warren Buffett has increased his holding in Apple not by just 50 percent as reported yesterday, but in recent months by something closer to 400 percent, according to new revelations.

In a regulatory filing, Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway reported owning 57.4 million shares of Apple as of December 31, which would now be worth $7.74 billion – and up from just from 15.2 million shares three months earlier.

This week he did indeed add another 15 million shares.

Apple shares have climbed 42 percent in the last 12 months and notched a new all-time record of US$133.29 on Tuesday.
