Dark Web Internet site AlphaBay has been raided and shut down in an international operation that has had its leader jailed.
The shutdown was coordinated by US, Canadian and Thai authorities, according to the Wall Street Journal, which also reports that alleged founder Alexandre Cazes has been found dead in his Thai jail cell.
Cazes, a Canadian citizen, had been living in Thailand for almost a decade. The Bangkok Post reported that he was arrested in Bangkok on July 5 and was to be extradited to the United States. It added that, as part of the raid, police had impounded four Lamborghini cars and three houses.
