Android users are at last being offered something has long been available to iPhone owners. Google Play will now allow users to share apps, games, books and video purchases with their family members, across devices.

Google introduced what it calls Google Play Family Library, letting up to six people share the apps, games, books, movies and TV shows that they have all purchased from Google Play.

Users can identify in the settings of the Google Play app as “family”. They can then download and watch the purchase of – for instance – the latest Star Wars or StarTrek movie on their Android phone, Android tablet, laptop or a Chromecast-connected TV.
