GoPro have announced that their troubled Karma drone will be globally relaunched in 2017.

The drone, originally launched in September of 2016, was plagued by battery problems that saw it drop out of the sky when in use.

The Karma was quickly recalled by the company ahead of the 2016 holiday season.

Reports say that Chief Executive Officer Nick Woodman had been betting on the new drone to spark growth.

However, in the aftermath of the Karma’s failure to launch, the company’s shares dipped close to 10%, with layoffs quick to follow.

GoPro have indicated that more details about the Karma’s return to the market will be revealed in early February.
