Microsoft has recently unveiled a prototype of its foldable dual-display phone the Surface Duo, that the company says will include a “world-class” rear camera.

As reported by GSMArena, developers and journalists were invited by Microsoft Germany along with Chief Product Officer Panos Panay to reveal the Surface Duo prototype which featured only a single selfie camera.

Panos Panay said, “of course we’re working on a world-class camera” for the Surface Duo, details of which may be revealed in a patent application made by Microsoft.

Patent details reveal a camera with a moving imaging sensor, which slots into place under a lens when required, which could allow for a much thinner camera mechanism.

It seems every smartphone on the horizon for 2020 will attempt to kill either the camera bump or the notch in one way or another.
