New Myer CEO, Mr John King, has reportedly landed down under, ahead of the receipt of his Australian working visa.
Mr King was noticed by The Australian’s ‘Margin Call’ at Sydney Airport on Monday morning, alongside Myer Executive Chairman Garry Hounsell.
Hounsell and the former House of Fraser boss were reportedly on their way to Myer’s Melbourne Head Office, where King was introduced to staff.
King’s start date is yet to be officially announced, subject to visa approval.

King lived in the United States for the last three years, working as a consultant to local retailers and start-ups.
Hounsell affirms King will bring a “new perspective” to Myer, following a “full mandate” from the Board to “deliver an improvement in financial performance”.
King’s appointment follows the departure of Richard Umbers in February, and comes after Myer’s recent $476 million record loss.
