After a few false starts and predictions flying everywhere, Amazon Australia has officially launched this morning just in time for the Christmas rush.

Now consumers want to know if what they are paying for online will be cheaper than heading out to a store or shopping on a retailer’s website.

We have compared the prices of a MacBook Pro, an Acer notebook and a desktop PC to see how Amazon Australia stacks up with Aussie retailers such as JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Myer and the individual brand’s website. Note shipping will not be factored into the prices.
