It is an issue brought up by many, but now the Google Pixel Buds can finally be turned off after being on the market for more than six months without this basic feature.

Google even admits this feature has been ‘highly requested’.

The Pixel Buds are controlled mostly via touch so it has added a new triple touch for power controls and expanded the double touch capabilities to skip tracks.

To turn the Pixel Buds on or off triple tap the right earbud and to skip a track double tap the right earbud. The double tap movement was originally made to hear notifications as a user received them.

The double tap to skip a track can be enabled through the Pixel Bud settings via the Google Assistant app.

To switch the Pixel Buds connection between your phone and computer, select your Pixel Buds from the Bluetooth menu of the desired device.

The update is being rolled out today with all Pixel Bud users to get the update in the next week.
