Fake reviews are nothing new on the Internet. But a Russian marketing agency is offering restaurants in cities hosting soccer World Cup games fake reviews to bump up ratings on review site TripAdvisor.

Bacon Agency says it can circumvent TripAdvisor’s algorithm for detecting fraudulent posts and publish reviews in foreign languages.

But it requires some pork-barrelling. For 35,000 roubles, equivalent to A$750, the agency promises a spot in TripAdvisor’s top 10 list. While fake reviews are widespread no one usually admits to charging for them.
