Samsung have set the date for the reveal of their anticipated Galaxy Note 8, issuing invitations for a showcase event that will take place in New York on August 23rd.

The new flagship smartphone will reportedly feature a 6.3-inch display and is also expected to adopt the Infinity Display first introduced in the Galaxy S8 earlier this year.

In the invitation, Samsung said that the “latest member of the Galaxy family” would be “the ultimate multitasking device for those who want to do bigger things with their phone”.

“This highly anticipated addition to the Galaxy roster was specifically designed for people who move through barriers to do more of what matters to them,” Samsung said.

As previously reported by Channel News, the Galaxy Note 8 will first be available in South Korea, the US and the UK before an expected launch in Australia in September.

Live streaming of the event will be available on the Samsung website.
