Recent reports reveal Samsung’s former Chief Technology Officer Injong Rhee – behind Knox, Bixby and Samsung Pay – has moved to Google.

According to ZDNetafter seven years at Samsung, Rhee will move to Google as an ‘entrepreneur-in-residence’, involved in IoT projects including the expanding Google Home ecosystem.

Mr Rhee was reportedly instrumental in Samsung’s purchase of ‘Joyent’ – a US firm specialising in cloud-based software services.

Bixby is Samsung’s smart digital assistant, and Knox its well-regarded security platform in Galaxy devices. Samsung Pay has been making strides both in Australia and globally.
