The Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ can now support ARCore, a program which enables augmented reality on devices.

Spotted by 9to5Google, Google has updated its ARCore support page where it now lists the Galaxy S9 and the S9+ with all major variants.

Since the release of the S9 series, the South Korean company mentioned the AR functionality was coming soon but did not specify a date.

Those with the S9 and S9+ are now able to download the ARCore app onto their smartphones. This means apps like Just a Line, IKEA’s Place and other AR based apps can be used on the S9 devices.

It also allows for software developers to build more interesting and realistic AR applications.

ARCore has been out of beta testing since February.  Before this update, ARCore was only available on Pixel and Nexus devices.
