It’s been confirmed that the numbering on Samsung’s Note range will jump from 5 to 7, with the Galaxy Note 7 slated to be officially unveiled at a New York City gala event on August 2nd.

An invitation for the event revealed the numbering change, putting an end to at-least some of the rumours that have been swirling around Samsung’s new phablet.

The device is speculated to feature a 5.7-inch QHD Super AMOLED display, iris recognition technology and a 12MP dual lens rear camera.

It’s widely expected to compete directly with Apple’s own iPhone 7 Plus.

The move forward to Note 7 brings it nicely in line with the rest of their Galaxy range.

Expect further details about the device itself when the event takes place on August 2nd.
