The new pair of sports ear buds was
revealed at CES 2014, Called the’ Relays’ the company’s latest buds are being
touted as the earphone version of a cross-trainer shoe.

Featuring a stylish design, as well as
Sol’s adaptable Free Flex technology the Company has created a pair of
headphones that the Companies Marketing Director Seth Combs claims is equally
at home on the treadmill, the bike trail, or when doing daily commute. 

Sol Republic claims the form-fitting Free
Flex material makes the Relays easy to put in to create an extremely secure
fit, without the need for the complicated entanglements and conspicuous design
of the wrap-around earpieces common in many sports ear buds.

Apart from their
promise to stick like glue, the Relays offer water and sweat resistance, a
light-weight and low-profile design to fit under helmets and minimize wind
resistance, and an inline microphone for taking calls and controlling music,
all for $80. Sound is provided by Sol Republic’s I5 “sound engines.” The buds
will be available in an array of colours sometime in February.

“When we first designed the Relays we
did consumer testing and what was revealed was that the inner part of the
headphone was uncomfortable aft 30 minutes of use, this led us to redesign the
inner part of the headphone” said Combs.
